24/7 Aquathlon and Powerade Salmon Run Triathlon

Quigley took a convincing 3rd place in a time of 31mins 15secs.  Paul McConnellogue was next home in a time of 33.17 while James Beattie stopped the clock on 34.15.  Frank Roche finished in 38.45 while Tony Morrison put in a good race to finish in 46.29.  Aoife Logan took 3rd place in the women’s race clocking 41.41.  Joe Doherty also competed in the swim leg clocking an impressive 10min 20secs.  The following day (Sat 11th July) Joanne Doran took part in the PowerAde Salmon Run Triathlon 2009.  The fishermen had to take second place to over two hundred wetsuit clad triathletes who entered the famous fishing river Moy in Ballina for the triathlon.

The large crowd of spectators got to witness the amazing spectacle of the competitors swimming downstream while having to negotiate under the two bridges. Doran’s strong swim and bike gave her the win in the time of 1.11.08.
