NWTC Race at Buncrana Charity Duathlon
The Mens race was competitive with some great performances. Sean McFadden of Letterkenny (24/7 Tri Club) was eventual winner in a time of 48 minutes 29 seconds with Adam Speer (24/7) second in 49.34 and Colm Quigley (North West Tri Club) third in 50.50. Joanne Doran (North West) won the Ladies race in a time of 59.38 with Georgine Dixon (Local) second in 1hour 16.01. Paul McConnellogue (North West) was the first Vet home on 53.39. The winning relay team of Ciaran Slevin & Brendan Duddy from City of Derry/Foyle finished in a time of 46.05. First local was Eoghan Furey in a time of 53.44.
Other notable performances from the North West Tri Club were Gary O’Donnell in a time of 51.35. Jame Beattie and Paul Morton had a close finish coming in on 54.29 and 54.35 respectively. Paul McGilloway posted a solid time of 55.17 while Patrick McLaughlin (58.05) and Frank Dunlop (58.22) were close at the line. James Harkin was just over the hour mark in 1hr37sec with Philip Hassen coming home on 1.01.16. Seamus Martin stopped the clock at 1.03.30 with Gerry McDermott finishing on 1.05.22.
Finally a reminder to all athletes that the entries for the North West Sprint/Liam Ball Triathlon are filling up quickly. There is a cap on the number of entries for the race so please get your entry in to avoid disappointment.
