North West Tri Club Compete at National Championships

Colm Quigley was the first of the North West men home.  He put in a great swim over what seemed to be a longer course than the usual 1,500m swim.  An undulating 40km cycle leg followed together with a 10km run to finish.  Quigley hammered home in a time of 2hrs 26mins 19secs.  Paul McConnellogue was the next North West club member to cross the line in yet another great time of 2hrs 28mins 55secs while Gary O’Donnell stopped the clock on 2hrs 31mins 41secs.  Paul McGilloway came home in 2hrs 39min 51secs and Sean Doherty finished in 2hrs 54mins 8secs.

The race’s eventual winner was David Graham of Belfast who was also the winner of the Irish Duathlon Championships hosted earlier this year by the North West Triathlon Club.

Next up for the North West is the Irish Sprint Championships which will be held again this year in Athlone on the 18th July followed a week later by the Galway Triathlon in Connemara.
