In the women’s race Eimear Mullan of Limavady, who is currently based in England, stormed home in blistering pace to win overall in a time of 2hours 2minutes. Derry’s Anne Paul, racing for Limavady Club Triangle, put in a great race to finish in 2hours 13minutes while Aoife Lynch of Dublin club Pulse followed hot on her heals in 2hours 14minutes.

The North West Triathlon Club was praised for the event organisation. This is the first race of this distance the club have undertaken and marshalling along the course was also praised for helping the entire event run smoothly. The club received plenty of positive feedback from competitors in relation to the course itself as it proved to be fast throughout. The great spread of food after the race was also well received by all tired and hungry competitors. Thanks to Peter Jack of Limavady who was on hand to provide race commentary. The last word must go to NWTC’s Chairperson and Event Organiser, Carndonagh’s Patrick McLaughlin, without whom this race would not have happened.
