Tri-Athlone 2007

Aileen Morrison narrowly missed out on the top spot of the podium, when she was narrowly beaten to the line by 3secs by Hi-Elbows Claire Connor. She was happy with second place in a time of 1hr 11:08.
Also in the woman’s race Aoife Logan showed good improvement in her cycling, and finished in 30th position with a time of 1:31:45. Paul Mc Connellogue finished in 4th position in the 40-44 category in a time of 1:15:57. Joe Doherty had a finishing time of 1:25:11, and Mickey Mc Bride came home in 1:28:10.

Colm Quigley raced in the draft legal Elite race, where the cycle route consisted of 3 laps around the closed roads of the town centre. Colm unfortunately missed out on the lead group on the swim, and had a lot of work to do on the bike. He held on though and managed to run himself into 15th spot in an excellent time of 1:01:21.
